    • GIRL CANNOT FIND LONG-LOST FAMILY
Sayre, Aug. 24.—The Binghamton Republican yesterday said:
A search for a long-lost family and for traces of parentage, such as is seldom found outside of fiction was brought to light in Binghamton yesterday when eighteen-years-old Pearl Maynard accompanied by her adopted parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Dodge of Sayre, Pa., called on Superintendent of the Poor Stone at his office in the courthouse. The story of the girl who has never known her real parents and who has only the most vague recollections of her sisters reads almost like a fairy tale. Until less than two weeks ago Miss Maynard knew absolutely nothing of her sister Mabel other than that she had been an inmate of the Susquehanna Valley Home. On her eighteenth birthday the fact became known that Mabel Maynard had been adopted in 1902 by Augustus Wilkinson, an engineer. Upon her arrival in this city Miss Maynard discovered that Wilkinson had left Binghamton in 1905 and that no trace of his present whereabouts was to be discovered. Inquiries at the home regarding her sister were futile. Mr. Dodge asked that any information regarding Miss Maynard’s relatives or concerning Wilkinson be sent to 133 South Hopkins street, Sayre, Pa..

    • GIRL FINDS CLUES TO HER PARENTAGE
Binghamton, Aug. 25.—It is expected by Pearl Maynard, of Sayre, the 18-year-old girl who is at present in this city searching for traces of her parents and sisters, that she will soon be successful in her efforts. From the authorities of the Susquehanna Valley home, of which she and her sister, Mabel, were at one time inmates, she learned that her mother and father had resided in Avoca, Steuben County. Her sister was later adopted by Augustus Wilkinson, an Erie engineer, and it was through an acquaintance of Mr. Wilkinson that she learned of the whereabouts of Mabel Maynard. According to the latest information, Mr. Wilkinson is at present in the Soldiers’ home at Bath while Miss Mabel Maynard is the wife of an employe of the Lestershire shoe factory. It is thought, however, that she has left Lestershire but the traces of her present whereabouts may be discovered from former acquaintances in that village.

    • Klipknocky - Mr. and Mrs. James Young of Sayre Pa. were guests at S.S. Maynard's last Sunday and Monday. Mrs. Young is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard whom they have not seen in about fifteen years. During sickness and bad luck, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard's three daughters were placed in the Bath Children's Home. Only within the past week were they able to discover where two of their daughters are.
