    • Gottfried Jr. was a blacksmith by trade and had his shop in near Jordan,PA for 30 years. He served in the American Revolution as a Private in the 6th Company, 2nd Battalion of the Northampton County Militia in 1778 under Capt.Henry Ritz. Also in the 8th Company, 1st Battalion in 1782 under Capt. Ritz. On May 22, 1783 he was elected Captain of the 4th Company, 3rd Battalion, under Col. Peter Trexler, Jr. After the war in 1803, Gottfried was elected Commisioner of Northampton County. He was buried in Allentown,PA.
