-
Name Edmund Lockwood Suffix Jr. Birth ca 1668 Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut
Gender Male Death 8 Feb 1740 Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut
Notes - Edmund Lockwood, born about 1668, was apparently of age by 1692, when his father began referring to himself as “Sr.” in a deed.
He was admitted as a freeman at Stamford by March 30, 1734, when his name appears on a list alongside his brothers, Joseph and Daniel (Stamford Records, S2:492–493).
Edmund died at Stamford on February 8, 1739/40, unmarried. His will, dated January 8, 1739/40, names his brothers Daniel and Joseph Lockwood of Stamford; his sisters Mary Garnsey, Abigail Clark, and Sarah Lounsbury; his nephew Edmund Lockwood (son of his brother Daniel); and his niece Deborah Webb, wife of Nathaniel Webb and also a daughter of Daniel (F&H).
It is noteworthy that thirty-three years after the distribution of their parents’ estate in 1707, all three surviving sons and three daughters of Edmund Lockwood were still living at the time Edmund Lockwood made his will.
