He graduated from Liberty High School in 1974 and was a licensed journeyman lineman for forty plus years. John worked as a serviceman/lineman for Entergy Services for twenty-four years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2286. John loved the beach, woods and hunting. He especially loved fishing with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed bar-b-queuing and grilling. John was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved his job. He will be missed by all. John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Henry Fondon Jr and Neil Blanchard, and one sister; Nancy Worthy. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of forty years; Debbie Fondon of Liberty, son; John Fondon Jr and wife Lori of Liberty, daughter; Michelle Griffin and husband Jimmy of Liberty, sisters; Faye McConnell of Liberty, Louise Miller of Liberty, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services for John Wayne Fondon Sr will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Worthy Cemetery.
