Plot: PaullNotes - Excerpts from "Dean's History of Bristol County:
On June 10, 1635 William embarked from Gravesend, in the county of Kent, England, on the river Thames on the ship "Truelove de London". He was 20 years old and by trade a weaver. He arrived at Cohannet, went later to Taunton, then to Assonet Neck (now Berkley). In 1655 he married Mary Richmond of Taunton, the daughter of John Richmond of Taunton, who came from Ashton Keynes, a parish of Wiltshire, England. In 1672, William was one of the original proprietors of the "Taunton South Purchase" lands that were bought from the Indian King Phillip. These lands consisted of all of what is now Dighton, and a great part of Berkley, including Assonet Neck.
