  Notes	DEATH OF MRS. ZERFASS. Born in Sparta and sha had lived there all Her Life. Mrs. Julia A. Zerfass, one of the very older residents of the town of Sparta, died at the home of her son Byron A. Zerfass below Cumminsville, early Monday morning, aged nearly 80 years. She was the widow of Henry Zerfass who died in 1895. She was born on the M. Magin farm May 26, 1832, her father and mother Conrad Hamsher and Julia Hughes Hamsher having come into the town from Pennsylvania early in the last century. She was married to Mr. Zerfass fifty-three years ago and had lived in Sparta all her life. She had been sick for more than two years and on the 20th of January 1911 she fell and broke her hip, and she never left her bed after that. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Her near surviving relatives are her son Byron A. Zerfass and her sister Mrs. John Sample of Ossian. She was a good woman, and her end was full of peace. Funeral services will be held from the house at three o'clock this afternoon, Rev. M. R. Heilig to officiate. (Dansville Express, Dansville NY, Thursday, May 9, 1912)
