  Notes	Golden Wedding The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Lynus Reed was celebrated at their residence in South Dansville, Steuben county, N.Y., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1875. Lynus Reed was born in the town of Dryden, Tompkins county, in 1806. In 1824 he moved to Sparta. His wife, Margaret Emmott, was born in the town of Sparta, Livingston county, in 1808. They were married in Sparta Feb. 10th 1825. In 1835 they moved to Fredonia, Cattaraugus county, where they lived until 1851; from there they moved to the place where they now reside. During their lives they have buried ten children and have four now living, viz; George M. Reed, residing in Almond, N.Y., Ezekiel Reed residing in Kansas, Samuel E. Reed in Michigan, and Margaret Bridge in the town of Dansville. The house was warmed at an early hour and the friends and relatives began to arrive about 10 a.m. There were about forty present, two of their own children and ten grandchildren. The dinner was served at 2 p.m., of which they partook a most bountiful meal which the bride had prepared mostly with her own hands. The bride and groom received several fine presents, both gold and silver. The company departed at an early hour and left the bride and groom as jovial and lively as they were half a century before.
