  Notes	Barbara Dotterer and George John Dieter, son of Capt. John Dieter, were married by Frederic W. Mendson, September 22, 1811 in Lehigh, Northampton Co., PA. They were the parents of 11 children: Polly, Peter, Sarah, Maria Ann, Appolonia Abigail, Susan, George, Jacob, Charles, Michael, & Benjamin. The first 7 of these children were born in Northampton Co., PA. By 1826 Barbara and George John Dieter were living in Livingston Co., NY, along with other Dieter families from PA. Barbara's will filed at Geneseo, Livingston Co., NY dated March 9, 1861, Surrogate Court, mentions the following heirs: Polly Sutton and Maria Swarts, of Sparta (dau's); Jacob of Springwater (son); Mary Jane & Andelusia Dieter of North Dansville (gr-dau's); Desire Hendershott of Groveland (gr-dau); Peter & Charles Dieter of Marion, Olmsted Co., MN. (sons); Sally Rickard of Hayfield, Crawford Co. PA.(dau); Abigail Rogers of Crossingville, Crawford Co., PA. (dau); and Benjamin Dieter of Springwater (son). Mary Jane & Andelusia Dieter & Desire Hendershot were minors at the time of their grandmother Barbara's death. Barbara's gr-dau. Desire Hendershott was the dau. of Charles & Susan Dieter Hendershott. Charles was the son of Charles M. and Mary Thomas Hendershott. Susan died a young woman of consumption soon after the birth of her daughter Desire Hendershott. By 1850 Susan's widower Charles Hendershott was remarried to Lois Peabody Metcalf, after the death of his first wife Susan Dieter.
