Notes - Joseph A. Piatt, one of Livonia's oldest residents, died at his home here Thursday morning, aged 80 years. He was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Rose Piatt and was born at Sparta, N.Y., May 5, 1832. His father moved to Angelica when he was a boy and he came to Livonia to reside 43 years ago, and had lived in the same house during that time. He was married to Louisa M. Lindsley of Livonia on March 18, 1855, and they celebrated their golden wedding several years ago. Mr. Piatt was a charter member of Livonia Lodge, No. 778, F. and A. M., and of Livonia M. E Church. For many years he was in the insurance business in this county, and for a time was a magnetic healer in Rochester. He leaves his wife and one son, Dr. A. A. Piatt, of Wayland, and one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Rice of Michigan, another sister, Mrs. Hannah Hooker, died October 13 at Marshall, Minn., the funeral being held one day previous to Mr. Piatt's death. Funeral services were held from the M. E. Church Sunday morning under the direction of the Livonia Masonic Lodge.
