  Notes	Hornell Evening Tribue - May 1984 Edward C. Haynes, 78, of 18 East Ave. died Sunday (May 13, 1984) at Bethesda Community Hospital in North Hornell after a long illness. A native of the Town of Dansville and a resident of Arkport for the past 65 years, he was a head driver and mechanic at the Arkport Central School bus garage from 1946 to 1950. Prior to his retirement in 1967, he was a motor equipment repairman for the state Department of Transportation in Hornell. He was a 48-year member of the Arkport Volunteer Fire Department, serving as president for 1938 to 1940 and fire chief from 1947 to 1948; a former village trustee; vice president of the Arkport Rod and Gun Club; a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Arkport Cemetery Association and Hornell Lodge No.210, Loyal Order of Moose. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Fannie Briggs Haynes; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Burdett of Livonia; a son Carl E. of Groton; a brother, Frank of Hornell; six grandchildren; neices; nephews and cousins. Friends will be receibed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at the Robertson Funeral Home in Hornell, where a funeral and committal service will be at 11 am Wednesday. Rev.Ernest Butler will officiate. Burial will be in the Arkport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arkport Fire Department or Arkport Ambulance fund.
