  Notes	George was the son of Thomas Manley and Hannah Chase Barrett. He married Mary Ferrin on May 23, 1830, the daughter of Ebenezer and Lydia Phelps Ferrin. Mary was born Aug 1, 1807 at Hebron, Grafton Co, New Hampshire. They had 10 children and in 1857 they moved to Linn County, Iowa and settled on 80 acres in Maine Township. Their children were: Philip (born Dec 27, 1832 and married Elenora Brown; Enos (born Dec 27, 1832); George Washington (May 10, 1834- Oct 14, 1837); Thomas Manley (born Feb 20, 1836 and married Martha J); Clarissa Jane (born Dec 7, 1837 and married Mr Brown); Ordelia Amanda (born Feb 22, 1839 and married George D Gillilan); Sophia Ludia (married Johnson a Wagor); George Washington (born Sept 13, 1843 and married Octavia Watson); William Ferrin (June 29, 1845- June 18, 1868), and Arvillia Louisa (April 20, 1847-Oct 6, 1850).
