  Notes	Apparently Henry Pickard died between 1872 and 1875 and the three oldest children were then raised by Elizabeth's parents, giving them the name Hartman. In the 1875 census of Ossian, Elizabeth Pickard and the three children, with the surnames Pickard were living with Abraham and Mary Hartman. I(Andrew) would assume a short time after the 1875 census Abraham, his wife, daughter and three grandchildren removed to South Dansville. (At the time of this update, I had been unable to obtain the 1880 census of Steuben County to further prove this). April 1998, I have found this family in the 1880 census living in Burns,Allegany Co.,NY; all seems normal, except living next door to the Hartman's and Peasley's is the Elias Kiehle's family and their boarder, Henry Pickard!! So apparently, Elizabeth Hartman and Henry Pickard got divorced about 1875 as the 1880 census shows Allen Peasley, as Abraham Hartmans son-in-law. Death of Mra. Peasley. Mrs. Elisabeth Peasley died at her home east of the Lackawanna depot In this town late Monday night at the age of 66 years. She had been ill several months and during the latter part of November she was obliged to give up. She was born on Sandy Hill, the daughter of Abram Hartman, and she was married to Allen Peasley thirty-seven years ago. She had always lived in this vicinity. She is survived by her husband and by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Milton Holbrook, Mrs. Elizabeth Maynard, Mrs. Ephraim Holbrook, Arthur Peasley and Abram Hartman. The remains were brought to the borne of Milton Holbrook on Main street and funeral services will be held from that place Friday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Mr. Heilig officiating, the deceased being s member of St. Paul's English Lutheran church and she will be buried in Greenmount. (Dansville Express, Thursday December 25, 1913)
