James O'Brien (son of Helen Burdette) wrote on 7/13/99: "Sidney and Sophia were not always so poor. After they were married, Sophia's father, Frank Heebner, gave them one of his four farms. A story I heard was that Sidney came to town with a circus. He wanted to marry Clara, but Frank said it would have to be Sophia because she was disfigured from a childhood burn (boiling pot of applesauce she received a bad burn). I don't know was the financial terms were, but I expect that Sidney and his father-in-law probably didn't get along.
